Frequently asked questions when purchasing a vehicle with us at Angus MacKinnon

Do we take Part exchanges?

Yes, we take all part exchange into consideration when you come to buy a vehicle. New and old. This can be one vehicle or even two. We use Autotrader to help us get the best price for your part exchange. We will always be honest with you whether the vehicle will go to trade due to the age. On the other hand, we may re-sell the vehicle on our forecourt. We will then knock the amount of the part exchange from your outstanding bill.

What is HP Finance?

HP (Hire Purchase) is a type of finance that allows you to pay a monthly sum over a set term and at the end of the agreement the car belongs to you.

What is PCP finance?

PCP (Personal Contract Purchase) allows you to pay a smaller monthly fee in comparison to HP, although there is a large Balloon payment at the end of the agreement. This gives you the option to pay the outstanding amount or hand the vehicle back and purchase another vehicle. There is also a mileage limit on PCP.

Do you settle existing finance?

Yes, we will settle existing finance and can cover a certain amount of negative equity.

Do we carry over Negative Equity?

Yes, we are always willing to try and make things work for you. We will carry over the outstanding payment to the new finance agreement. This may affect your monthly payments and lender. Depending on the amount you ae looking to carry over, there may be less of a chance to getting finance due to the large loans and affordability.

Do we do service plans?

Yes, we have designed a service plan to help with the costs of servicng and MOT’S. No admin fees, inflation proof and interest free. A quote is created for you based on your vehicle. You pay a set amount each month meaning no payment is needed when you collect your vehicle. The payment covers 3 service's and 3 MOT'S.

Can I test drive the vehicle before I buy?

Yes, you can test drive any vehicle if you have your driving licence with you on the day. If not, we can arrange an alternative date to test drive the vehicle.

Will the vehicle be taxed?

Yes, we tax all vehicle's before leaving us unless you would like to do it yourself. We add the cost on top of the overall bill or you can do this via direct debit. If you are owed tax back on your current vehicle, we will bring the vehicle into trade if we take it in part exchange meaning you will get a cheque with a refund of the amount owed.

Do you provide a warranty?

Yes, we provide a 3 month WMS warranty with all Vehicles we sell which is included in the protection pack.

What is the Protection Pack?

Our protection pack gives you total piece of mind motoring from a trusted family business for over 40 years.

The pack includes:

The total cost of the protection pack is £750. We charge a small fee of £100.

Can you add extras onto the vehicle?

Yes, we can add extras to any vehicle. For example tow bars, side steps, rear cameras and parking sensors. All depending on make and model. The cost will be added onto the final bill or agreed within the deal.

Will the car be serviced and MOT’D?

We service and MOT all vehicle prior to leaving us if they don’t already have up to 9 months on the vehicle.

How can I pay for the vehicle?

At Angus MacKinnon, we accept the following payment methods.

•       Bank transfer
•       Finance

How do I reserve a vehicle?

There are a few ways you can reserve a vehicle. We charge £100 to reserve the vehicle for 5 days. This takes the vehicle of the website so know one else can purchase or test drive it. This can be done over the phone, online or in our dealership. This is also fully refundable with no questions asked.
