MOT preparation and testing at Angus MacKinnon
MOTs check the safety of your vehicle and that it complies with legislation. All cars over three years old require an annual MOT inspection, which will provide you with essential documentation on the state of your vehicle.
Vehicles we can carry out an MOT on:
- Class 4 Cars (up to 8 passenger seats), Motor caravans, Dual-purpose vehicles, PSV's (up to 8 seats) and Goods Vehicles (up to 3000kg DGW)
- Class 7 Goods Vehicles (over 3000kg up to 3500kg DGW)
We recommend that you don't wait until the final day prior to your test running out. In fact, you can have your vehicles MOT carried out up to 30 days before your old one expires, and the remaining days will simply be added on to your new certificate.
It is illegal to drive without a valid MOT certificate, so it is vital you make the necessary arrangements to get your vehicle booked in.
To give your vehicle the best chance of passing, make routine checks before the MOT such as; checking the wipers are not broken or damaged, top up your fuel and screen wash, check your tyre pressure and treads, check the condition of seat belts and check that your number plate is legible and clean.
On the date of your test, you are welcome to wait in our reception area while your car is tested. Where a pass is gained, we will issue you with the necessary certificate to take away with you. In the event of a fail, no work will be carried out without prior authorisation.
